Wow, it's been a while since my first post. I still need to find some time to squeeze blogging into so bare with me. I wanted to share a bit of our poem routine and what we do. On Sundays I make sure to find a poem that will be easy enough for Sophia to write and memorize. On Mondays we recite it together then it's her copy work for the day. Then we recite it every morning for the rest of the week. Sophia has a brilliant mind, she's so good at memorizing things (like she'll tell you a memory from when she was one year old) So she usually memorizes the poem by the end of the week. One of my favorite poem books is A Child's First Book of Poems. This week she is memorizing Mice by Rose Fyleman. This past Friday we were at mothers house and she told them to keep an eye out for the mouse that was in her house. Naturally they started freaking out and were uneasy the rest of the time there because they were afraid. So this poem is perfect. I have included a copy work freebie for any of you who would like to have it.
